PANTONE just announced their 2017 Color of the Year! This year's winner is "Greenery 15-0343". This might not seem like a big deal, but this color will play a huge role in all different industries-- fashion, design, architecture, and most importantly- the wedding industry! Look for this color at upcoming 2017 weddings.
Pantone describes this color as a "fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate. Greenery is nature’s neutral. The more submerged people are in modern life, the greater their innate craving to immerse themselves in the physical beauty and inherent unity of the natural world. This shift is reflected by the proliferation of all things expressive of Greenery in daily lives through urban planning, architecture, lifestyle and design choices globally. A constant on the periphery, Greenery is now being pulled to the forefront - it is an omnipresent hue around the world. A life-affirming shade, Greenery is also emblematic of the pursuit of personal passions and vitality."
You might remember last year's PANTONE Colors of the Year: Rose Quartz and Serenity (as shown above). These colors caused major inspiration throughout the wedding industry. Read our blog from last year to relive all this color inspiration!
My favorite Color of the Year is still Marsala, from 2015. I love the look of this color for Fall and Winter weddings. This color truly 'pops', and makes for great bridesmaid dresses, florals, and tablescapes.
PANTONE describes Greenery as a versatile “trans-seasonal” shade that lends itself to many color combinations. Greenery looks best when paired the color palettes shown here. Pair Greenery with neutrals, brights, deeper shades, pastels, and metallics. These palettes easily cross over fashion, beauty, product and graphic design applications.
