Pantone recently released the 2016 Color of the Year, and wedding industry professionals went absolutley crazy. For the first time ever, Pantone announced not one, but two colors. The winners: Rose Quartz (similar to a blush/light pink) and Serenity (light blue). For those not in the wedding industry, this announcement might not seem like a big deal, however these colors will play a huge role in the wedding industry and similar industries like the fashion industry. Expect to see these colors at most weddings you attend in 2016 and even into 2017. Professionals are describing the color combo as symbolic; a color snapshot of what we see taking place in our culture in terms of mood and attitude.
Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director for the Pantone Color Institute, explains the pairing, saying:
"Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing warm tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as a soothing sense of order and peace."
I'm still loving the 2015 Color of the Year, Marsala, which is a wonderful color to incorporate into fall weddings. I put together a Wedding Inspiration Board for any couples who want to incorporate these 2016 colors into their upcoming wedding. Click here to view:
