Clueless groom? First time wearing a tux? Don't stress because we've got you covered! Table 1 Events sat down with the tux guru himself, James Buchakjian, owner of Saget's Formal Wear in Drexel Hill. James is lovingly known in the wedding industry as "Jimmy Tux". Here he gives grooms some advice when it comes to their big day.
When selecting a place to go to for formal wear, James suggests doing your research online and reading reviews. Call ahead to see how you feel about their expertise. Make sure the rental company carries the latest in men's formal wear and carries top designers. Make sure they carry the trim modern and skinny fit tuxedos along with trim and skinny pant options.
And just like a bride, have a fitting prior to your wedding day to ensure everything fits correctly. If you have groomsmen coming in from out of town, arrange with your tuxedo supplier for a tailor to be present for any last minute alterations.
Did you know Saget's offers "Day of Wedding Services"? Think of a Day of Coordinator just for the guys. Tuxedos are delivered to the grooms location, and James is personally there to assist with every last button and make sure every crease is pressed. This is an invaluable service, since most men are not tuxedo experts. Also, Saget's will come and pick up the tuxedos after your wedding, so you don't have to run around to drop them off. Bridal Boot Camps used to be considered a luxury wedding item. Nowadays, they are becoming part of the normal routine when brides are prepping for their wedding. If you don't know what a Bridal Boot Camp consists of, picture a 'spa day' with the girls, Now pictures this day spanned over the course of several week, or even months. Brides, bridesmaids, and mother-of-the-brides sign up for "boot camp" style spa treatments with a med spa. Treatments typically include facials and massages, but have recently expanded to include botox, fillers, mud wraps, eyelash growth serums, and laser hair removal. The girls go back to the med spa several times leading up to their wedding day for continued treatment.
Essent Spa and Salon, an extension of The Radnor Hotel, saw the need for a bridal boot camp for men. They created 'Groom Get Ready', a boot camp specifically designed for the guys. Grooms, groomsmen, and dads can all enjoy spa services and products catered to men's needs. As part of this package, men receive two facials, a body wrap, massage, and hot shave. They can also receive laser hair removal treatments for their chest and back, and back of the neck. Additional treatments consist of botox and fillers, and microneedling on their hair line to promote hair growth.
More and more grooms-to-be are signing up for med spa treatments like oxygen facials, microdermabrasion, and chemical peels. And yes, there has been a big uptick in the number of guys receiving filler treatments like botox.
Dr. Alison, Owner and Medical Director of Essent Spa, says that these treatments are medically proven to help you look your best on your wedding day. She suggests the men should sign up at least six weeks prior to their wedding to ensure they look their best on their big day.
